My random thoughts…brought to you once a week!

  • For the last couple of years I’ve been fortunate enough to attend the famous Pig Party (now in its 22nd year).  Held in Houston’s Oak Forest neighborhood , this shindig is thrown by some great people and is easily one of the best parties in the city.  Remember that blowout from Old School?  It’s kind of like that.  But instead of Snoop Dogg, it’s an old-timey country band, and instead of a naked streaking Will Ferrell, there’s a man dishing out Brunswick Stew.   Great people, tons of beer and food, and awesome tunes…truly a classic event!
  • A couple more things about the party.  There’s even t-shirts and coasters made and the food line includes not only the stew, but pulled pork and sides—all very tasty.  Bring on 23!
  • What’s the best Houston food sign?  Check out Eating Our Words from the Houston Press and find out.
  • I think Brian Cushing needs to start over-training again.  He seems to be under-performing.
  • Yesterday was our 8-year anniversary.  Eight years ago, my father-in-law gave the longest toast in toasting history…and I still get sh*t from friends over it.
  • Honest—I have absolutely no idea what Glee is about other than I think one of my favorites (Jane Lynch) is on it.
  • You haven’t lived life until you’ve seen a 1.5-year-old shake it to Bottoms Up.
  • Pet Peeves: Ever have this happen to you?  You’re driving in the right lane.  Some douche speeds in front of you as you’re getting to a stop light.  He crosses over to the right lane, but doesn’t make a right on red.
  • Answer to last week’s question: Legendary announcer Jack Brickhouse.
  • Have you seen the new guy on SNL do his impersonation of Denzel?  Can’t beat it.  Yeah, I know, SNL sucks, but I still watch it from time to time.

I remember that wedding toast. And it was the longest in history! It was a good thing y’all had chocolate chip cookies out on the table! That made it better.

You’re not the one who had to hold the champagne glass up.

HAHA, love the bit about the toast. And, Glee is amazing.

Sounds like a great time with great food!

And I LOVE the Denzel guy. Have you seen his Will Smith? It’s even better than his Denzel, believe it or not!

Just wonderful people who put on the party.

I need to start following this guy some more…don’t even know his name…I’ll hulu the Will Smith. Thanks for the suggestion Dionne. And thanks for reading!
