We are constantly on the prowl for great products, promotions, and events! Special thanks to Carrie for writing this one up.

The aptly named GoodPops are both delicious and won’t break the sugar or calorie banks. They are made with all-natural, organic and local ingredients and contain no refined sugars, artificial colors or flavors. For those with dietary restrictions, all pops are gluten-free and all fruit pops are vegan. And, at less than 100 calories a pop (50-65 for fruit pops; 85-100 for dairy pops), they are guilt-free! But better than all that? They are yummy!

GoodPops are available in both water-based and cream-based flavors. According to their website, the 2011 staple flavors are strawberry, watermelon agave, mango, and hibiscus mint (water based) and banana cinnamon and coldbrew coffee (cream-based) with other flavors offered as available. I tried the strawberry, watermelon agave, hibiscus mint and banana cinnamon flavors. The strawberry was straightforward, but flavorful. No surprises, but well worth every bite. The watermelon agave needed a little more watermelon flavor for my taste. That being said, if one were put in front of me on a hot Houston day, I certainly wouldn’t pass it up! The hibiscus mint was by far my favorite of the fruit bars. The subtle, yet definitive hibiscus and mint flavors were unique and amazingly refreshing. These are incredible. And, finally, the only dairy-based pop that I tried…the banana cinnamon. It was creamy cinnamony deliciousness. Although there wasn’t a lot of banana flavor, I wouldn’t change anything about this little gem.

So, where can you get these sweet treats? If you are in the Houston or Austin areas, Whole Foods is now carrying the 4-pack boxes. Also, Houstonians can catch these on the Eatsie Boys ice cream truck, where I had my first GoodPop experience. Check out the complete list of GoodPop locations.
