These next few weeks certainly are busy ones around our great town. From festivals to special dinners to movie viewings, below you’ll find a rundown of all the fun things going on in the Little Rock area. And a few extra tidbits.

Capeo is hosting “Festival of Friends Who Wine” on Thursday, November 15 in their new banquet space. “We have plenty of surprises up our sleeve for this private dining experience and it will be a fabulous night celebrating with old friends, new friends and a chance to showcase the warmth of this amazing community. A portion of the proceeds will go to our Clean, Green and Safe program and to highlight this, our wonderful Argenta Ambassadors will be delivering you right to the front door. Rolling out the red carpet! We will announce a designated parking area soon,” says co-host Holly Fish. Tickets can be purchased right here.

There’s a free screening of the Academy Award Nominated Documentary, Knife Skills at the new Ben E. Keith Foods distribution center on Monday, October 29 at 6 p.m.. The evening will start with a tour of the new facility, followed by the film, and ending with a Q & A session with Hope Rises founder, Kim Sullivan Roxburgh and The Dandy Line Kitchen’s Lindsey Gant.” Tickets are free but folks need to register for the event.

Did you know that cheese dip is a big deal in these parts? The World Cheese Dip Championship is this Saturday and you won’t want to miss it.

Speaking of cheese, owner of Proof Bar + Lounge in Hillcrest at 2611 Kavanaugh tells me he’s added pimento cheese to the menu. Looks good.

I’ve been keeping an eye on the new version of Deluca’s. Everyone’s favorite pizzeria is now located at 831 Central Avenue in the heart of downtown Hot Springs and the new space, at least from the pics I’ve seen, looks great. We already know the pizza is killer, so if you drop by the new digs, please shoot me a message and let me know what you think.

Keep an eye on the Me & McGee Facebook page. Apparently, the fine folks over there are once again teaming up with BBQ expert Ken Dempsey for a whole hog roast.

There will be a Mighty Rib Dinner coming in December. I haven’t done one in months but will have all of the details for our next dinner in the very near future.

Owners Matthew and Amy Bell of South on Main once again hosted a very successful No Kid Hungry Dinner on Monday night. Over 150 folks showed up and I believe the event raised $100K. It’s always a fun, festive dinner, filled with plenty of emotion and outstanding food and wine. Kudos to everyone involved, including Ben Brainard from Yellow Rocket Concepts and Anthony Valinoti of Deluca’s, and a long list of folks who helped out with food preparation and service. It’s always a great event for great cause.

If you follow the blog on a regular basis, you’ve seen me lump praise on the new Bramble Market out in far west Little Rock. I love the concept and would encourage you to check them out. Oh, and they’re having a Grand Opening on Saturday. Here are the details.

Finally, here are some more links to some fun upcoming events … Fountain Fest, Petit & Keet Halloween Party and Costume Contest, Proof Halloween Party, Harvestfest, Jazz Brunch in the Garden, Chili Fights in the Heights, and Arkansas Cornbread Festival.

*Above is a random pic of Stoby’s cheese dip. Because I love it.
