Mondays are dedicated to bringing you a restaurant review!
I recently ventured out to the burbs of Houston to visit some close friends. We had our hopes set on eating at a Greek restaurant for dinner, but the place was closed. So we stumbled upon Husky’s.
Husky’s screams suburban living, and I mean this in a good way. It’s an all-in-one, wholesome family establishment. Imagine a much, much smaller Dave & Buster’s. There are games to be played and quality food to be eaten.
For the purpose of this review, we’ll stick to the food. It was solid, certainly nowhere near spectacular, but there were elements to the meal that really stood out.
Husky’s concept is fairly simple. You order at the counter from a menu that centers around building a burger. Ten minutes later, your vibrator goes off, and they serve you up a piece of well done beef on a bun. You add the fixins’ and let the good times roll. The beef is unspectacular, but all the other ingredients make up for it.
The highlight was the bun. Mine was onion-flavored, slightly sweet, soft, and extremely fresh. The fries really stood out as way above average. They were fresh-cut, plenty thick, and well-portioned.
Here’s something that should also not be overlooked…Husky’s has a really cool soda fountain machine. It looks like a normal one, but upon closer inspection, you’ll notice the option of adding various flavorings to your drink like cherry or vanilla. Nice touch.
Husky’s won’t win any awards, but it was very solid. From the looks of it, they are expanding—coming to a suburban community near you.
