From H-E-B’s Press Release:

WHO/WHAT: Do you crave the sweet taste of a delectable dessert? While not everyone can be the “Cake Boss” Buddy Valastro, you can get a few steps closer to learning how to create your own masterpiece by learning from the talented H-E-B cake decorators as they roll up their sleeves for the second annual H-E-B Houston Region Cake-Off, a fun cake decorating contest and event.

More than 20 teams, each comprised of two H-E-B Partners (employees) from H-E-B stores in greater Houston, will compete to see who has the best cake decorating skills. Each team will have three hours to decorate and display their creations. After the competition, a silent auction will be held to auction off all of the confectionary creations, with proceeds benefiting the Adult Reading Center.

Judges for the competition include:
– President of H-E-B Houston Scott McClelland
– Director of Bakery for H-E-B Houston Laurie Contreras
– Councilman Scott Sherman
– FOX News Food Contributor Cleverley Stone
– Editor of Village News Kathleen Ballanfant
– Houston Press Eating our Words Food Blogger Carrie Jaeger

The takeaway for the H-E-B Cake-Off grand prize winner? $500 in H-E-B gift cards and earning the coveted title of “H-E-B Cake Boss.”
