We are constantly on the prowl for cool products, promotions, and events!

From press release
The Oceanaire Seafood Room invites local Houston residents to participate in the Florida Stone Crab Claw limited engagement. This fresh, seasonal delicacy will only be available for a limited time.

Indigenous to the waters of the Gulf of Mexico and Florida, the meaty claw of the stone crab is a delicacy whose season is much anticipated. With its sweet delicate meat, the stone crab claw is high in protein, low in calories and considered by experts to be among the best crab available. The Stone Crab Claws arrive fresh daily to the Oceanaire.

“We are looking forward to sharing this ultra-fresh seasonal indulgence with our loyal patrons,” said Executive Chef Trevor White. “This variety of crab is top notch and requires virtually no preparation for spectacular results.”

Although the majority the U.S. commercial harvest of Stone Crabs is in Florida and the Florida Keys, Stone Crabs can be found all along the Atlantic and Gulf coast from the Carolinas to the Yucatan Peninsula. Stone Crabs are captured commercially with pots and traps so that once the claws are removed, the Stone Crabs can be returned to the waters safely for future harvests due to their ability to regenerate their claws.

The Oceanaire is located at 5061 Westheimer Rd., the hours of operation are: Monday – Thursday 11:30 a.m.-10:00 p.m.; Friday 11:30 a.m. – 11:00 p.m.; Saturday 5:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. and Sunday 5:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. The average entrée at the Oceanaire can range anywhere from $20 – $30. Great to know. Love stone crab claws. Really like The Oceanaire too (even though it’s a chain). They always have a good selection of oysters.

Thanks Deb…I’m happy to say that there’s an Oceanaire here in Boston. And I love oysters, so I will have to check them out!
