For Mike, it’s all about finding that perfect balance of fun and work.

A big part of keeping myself motivated is making sure I enjoy my time at the gym. How do I do that? I make sure I have good workout playlists on my iPod.

Those of you that know me personally know that I live and breathe music. So I offer up to you my most current workout playlist. It’s heavy on rock and rap (actually, that’s all there is) so if you’re not a fan of those I wouldn’t recommend downloading any of these. Many of these songs also feature liberal use of profanity – what can I say, cursing keeps me going…
“Tighten Up” – The Black Keys
“Howlin’ For You” – The Black Keys
“Blue Blood Blues” – The Dead Weather
“Hell of a Life” – Kanye West
“Monster” – Kanye West
“Black and Yellow” – Wiz Khalifa
“Not Afraid” – Eminem
“Daylight” – Matt & Kim
“Dashboard” – Modest Mouse
“DJ Got Us Fallin’ In Love” – Usher feat. Pitbull
“Kings and Queens” – 30 Seconds to Mars
“MC Hammer” – Rick Ross
“Exhibit C” – Jay Electronica
“Make Her Say” – Kid Cudi feat. Kanye West and Common
“I’m Shipping Up to Boston” – The Dropkick Murphys
“Ace of Spades” – Motorhead

There you have it – this is what gets my blood pumping at the gym. What songs do you listen to when you’re working out?

There was a nasty rumor back in high school that I would jam out to Richard Marx…of course, that would have been on my Walkman.

hope the early routine is working out for you!
