The 8th annual B Street Rib Off is set for Saturday, April 2nd at Argenta Plaza in North Little Rock. For those unfamiliar, that’s right across the street from the old Good Food by Ferneau. And it looks like the weather is going to be spectacular this weekend.

The event, which benefits the American Cancer Society, features an amateur-based BBQ cooking competition with teams from across the region.

“The B. Street Rib Off is here again and we, at the American Cancer Society, are so grateful for the cooking teams who continue to support our mission to finish the fight against cancer. I would like to encourage everyone to come out and fill up on some delicious food while supporting the American Cancer Society’s mission of helping people stay well, get well, finding cures and fighting back!” said Sherri Jones, American Cancer Society – Director, Community Engagement.

Event-goers can also expect live music, Roxy Twisted Sandwiches food truck , beer from Flyway Brewing, and a raffle that includes merchandise from several Arkansas retailers. Also, for a small donation, folks can also attend and judge the People’s Choice category, which kicks off at 8 a.m. (with results announced at 4 p.m.).

My buddy Ken Dempsey (whose ribs are pictured above) will be in the competition, and I can tell you his ribs by themselves are worth showing up for.
