My random thoughts…brought to you once a week!

  • My two-year-old daughter has gotten into a routine. She often hides behind the curtains, grows silent, and drops a deuce in her Huggies. I like her style.
  • I overheard this exact quote while standing at an intersection, “I really love my 2007 Corolla. It’s a great car. I’ve never had any problems with it…other than my sister driving into her house.”
  • My local grocery store (Stop N Shop) now has those sweet-@ss shopping scanners. You grab one, scan each item as you go along, bag as you go along, pay, and leave. It’s beyond awesome.
  • Why do parents take their small children to the park, and then not monitor them?
  • True Grit. Don’t get me wrong, great movie. But the ending sucked just a bit.
  • Because of a recent move, I’ve been without my home internet for three weeks. No shortage of Wifi/coffee choices nearby…within a couple hundred yards, there’s a Panera, Starbucks, Peet’s, and Dunkin Donuts.
  • We’ve been watching a lot of The Andy Griffith Show of late. Don’t laugh, but I can honestly say that is my favorite show of all time. Deadwood is a close second. Watch Barney Fife, and look at all the characters throughout television history who have borrowed from those traits. George Castanza from Seinfeld is just one.
  • News flash: Sam Adams Boston Lager is a damn good beer. I sometimes forget that. That said, I’m no beer expert.
  • Pending review: I had a burger in Boston. It was one of the best I’ve had in a long time. Thank you Eagle’s Deli.
  • Missing you: I miss you Taco Cabana Salad Bowl. We grew close over the past two years. Your stewed chicken will not be soon forgotten.
  • What facility does this young gentleman call home?

I enjoyed True Grit and I cried as the song played over the credits but it left me wanting a little more.

The Andy Griffith Show and Deadwood? Those two couldn’t be farther apart on the TV show spectrum. Switch back and forth between them fast enough and you just may see Barney Fife calling someone a “MF” while getting a hummer!
