TQLA is heating up this summer with a new lunch and dinner menu, specially designed for the connoisseur of southwestern food—available starting Friday. As TQLA enters its first summer, after opening 10 months ago, they felt it was time for the them to take it up a notch and showcase new flavors.

Chef Tommy Birdwell has taken Mexican cuisine, added a splash of old-world Spanish ingredients and Native american spices to create some delicious dishes and sauces, that are full of color and flavor. By experimenting with new flavors, ingredients and styles, Chef Birdwell ‘s new menu with more than 20 dishes and delicious salsas that offer more seasonal ingredients and hard -to–find Mexican chilies. In addition, the new menu boasts 10 new lunch items under $11.

Crawfish and Texas Pecan Hush Puppies

Some menu items include: new appetizers— Chorizo empanadas, with homemade chorizo with new Mexican green chilies and southwestern prickly pear crema; Calamari La Paza, lightly battered and fried, served with poblano rings, fresh jalapenos, crispy onions, ranchero sauce and blackened Serrano aioli; Crawfish and Texas Pecan Hush Puppies, served with cucumber tomatillo sauce and chipotle ranch dressing; Sweet Potato Sopes, with pulled pork, refried black beans, shredded cabbage, queso and pineapple pico; BBQ Duck Tamale, with duck confit, cascabel chilies, fresh masa, spicy salsa pico and Mexican crema. New entrees: Fried Green Tomato & Jumbo Lump Crab salad, with jicama, salsa fresca and sweet pepper aioli; Blue Corn vegetable enchiladas; Santa Fe burger, with roasted chilies, hot and spicy habanero sauce and fried cotija cheese; Chilie Relleno, with two flash fried Anaheim chilies, served with Ranchero sauce , queso fresco, Mexican crema; Grilled Texas Quail, with spicy sweet arbol chilie glaze, blue corn polenta and a summer vegetable succotash. Desserts: Orange Jarritos and Vanilla Bean Ice Cream Float and Patron XO Chocolate flan with cinnamon whipped cream…..To name a few.”

Sauté sliced onions, tri-colored bell pepper strips and sliced cremini mushrooms.
Season burger with cracked black pepper, garlic and sea salt. Grill burger.
