My random thoughts…brought to you once a week!

  • I’ve never understood why people are willing to wait in line an hour (or more!) in the hot sun for beer and/or food.  I just schvitz too much for this.
  • Find the Hit N Run food truck here in Houston.  Order the Killer Burger.  Hint: It’s killer!
  • If you ever questioned whether hockey would make it in Houston, go visit Maple Leaf Pub during the playoffs. Crazy packed.
  • I know it’s f-ed up, but I want a gyro bowl.  “It’s fun and it never spills!” I’m so excited!
  • Have you ever had to pee so bad that your stomach hurt?  Me neither.
  • I was happy for the Mavs winning it all. I think Cuban is good for the game and how can you not cheer for the players?  And Lebron not winning a ring is just icing on the cake.
  • Happy birthday to Vivek, one of the most talented food writers/photographers going. Thanks for all your hard work!
  • I read on FB that one of my favorite restaurants in Houston closed (Heights West):(
  • If you’ve never gotten a chair massage in the mall, you haven’t lived life.  Trust me.
  • Where is this picture taken?  You get this one and you are good…very good!

I agree with you on the food/beer festival complaints – there are plenty of great places to eat and drink without suffering in the summer heat of Houston. Only attend festivals in March and October. Also, if it’s a first time festival, expect problems. Oklahoma City.

I truly miss the Heights Festival but, back when I was a kid, it started at 11th and ended at 20th. Good times.
