We are constantly on the prowl for cool products, promotions, and events!

What a past few months it’s been…chocolate factories galore! First, it was this one. Later, it was that one. And in-between, it was…Lake Champlain Chocolate Factory in Burlington, VT.

I’m certainly no stranger to Lake Champlain Chocolates. They’re sold at Whole Foods and our friend Carrie (she’s from VT) would bring them over from time to time when we were living in Houston.

But now I’m in Boston, mere hours away from the magic! So, on a recent trip to the Green Mountain State, guess where we ended up? Yes, at the Lake Champlain Chocolates retail store in Waterbury. And the next day at the factory in Burlington. I also fully realize I sound like a menstrual female throughout much of this post.

What makes LCC so good? For me, it’s the smoothness. I’ve never had a bad piece, but here are a few of my favorites:

  • 5 Star Chocolate Bar: Think of this as a MUCH better, stumpier version of a Whatchamacallit.
  • Dark Spicy Aztec: 55% cocoa, 100% awesome! The cayenne pepper gives it a not-so-subtle slow burn and what a nice texture with the pumpkin seeds.
  • Dark Espresso Beans: You guessed it, chocolate covered coffee beans. Chomp down 10 of these bad boys and you’ll be racing around the living room.

Again, these are my favorites, but LCC offers so much more!  Truffles, bar, hot chocolate…you get the drift.

Do you have a favorite Lake Champlain Chocolate?

*Editor’s Note: TMR did not receive any LCC chocolate for this post.

Never tried LCC but I want to now- especially the Aztec kind. I’m a huge fan of this chocolate at Central Market with sea salt. It’s sold in a disk and wrapped in tissue-like paper. I have no clue what the name of it…but I’ll find out. It’s unreal.
