The 11th annual B Street Rib Off will take place on Saturday, September 7th in the Argenta Art District of North Little Rock. The annual event features a BBQ cooking competition focused on amateur cooking teams from across the mid-south with all proceeds from the event going to the American Cancer Society of Central Arkansas. The public is encouraged to attend the event and judge the People’s Choice category for a small donation. The event is family friendly and will kick off at 8 a.m. with results announced at 4 p.m. I’ll have Jason Brown, one of the event founders, on the radio this Friday and we’ll be talking about all things B Street Rib Off. Tune in, 88.3 FM at 9:30 a.m.

Speaking of ribs, please keep an eye out for an announcement on Facebook about the next Mighty Rib Dinner. Tentative date is September 30th. Location and menu should be available in the next few weeks.

And speaking of more ribs … RibFest 2019 is set for Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 4:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. at St Margaret’s Episcopal Church. “Buy a ticket to get your ballot, and judge from the best local rib teams in town! There will be live music, local craft vendors, and college football on a big screen. Sample ribs and get your ballots in by 7 p.m. to award the title of Best Ribs in Little Rock. In addition to a great time, all proceeds benefit the ministries of St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church and the American Childhood Cancer Organization. General Admission tickets are $30 for adults and $15 for children ages 6-12 (children 5 and under are free). Ticket prices will go up the day of the event, so buy your tickets early! (Weather Make-up Date is October 12.)”

Tickets for South on Main’s No Kid Hungry Dinner are now available to purchase. This year’s event is set for October 21st.

The 9th Annual World Cheese Dip Championship will be held on Saturday, October 5th, from noon-4 p.m. at the Clinton Presidential Center in Little Rock for it’s 9th year. Event officials anticipate 10,000 attendees and 50 competitors, so bring your cheese dip-loving appetites.

Do you know anything about On the Go food truck? I think it’s a fairly new venture serving up creative mac & cheese dishes. Drop me a line if you’ve partaken in their culinary delights. If not, please click on their page, scroll down, and check out the schedule for this week.

Just Ice Cream opened up in their new, larger space this past week in downtown Benton (115 N Market Street). If you live in the area and love Loblolly Ice Cream, please go check them out.

Loblolly’s has a Charity Night and Jet Fuel Release Party coming up on August 22nd. Details right here –> click.

Finally, one of Little Rock’s biggest food events of the year, the Main Street Food Truck Festival, is set for Sunday, September 22nd from 11 a.m.-6 p.m.
