My random thoughts…brought to you once a week!
- I went to the Harvard Book Store the other night, as part of my super romantic Harvard Square date night. Yes, taking my nerdy wife to a bookstore is romantic. Calling her a nerd isn’t. Anyway, it’s just a great place. Your IQ raises 20 points just walking through the door. I even bought a book. And hell didn’t freeze over.
- Dinner at Grafton Street was the other half of my super romantic date night. Great place!
- The Texans lost to a good team on the road. In related news, the sky is blue.
- Why aren’t there more food blogs updated regularly in Houston? Maybe 10…at the most. That’s ridiculous.
- Worst Part of Apartment Living: Common washers/dryers. Mother-fer!!! A $1.50 for one dryer load…that doesn’t dry the clothes.
- Seattle. Tomorrow. Me. Any recs? (Side note: I generally despise when people announce trips, but I really need some recommendations. I’ll be bored if you don’t.)
- Have you ever told a person that they looked like someone else? Has that person ever agreed with your assessment? I’m guessing—no.
- Is Parks and Recreation the best show on television? Maybe.
- Treat. yo. self.
- Boardwalk Empire is heating up. Hung is not.
- Boise State possibly in the Big East? That sounds about right.
- I looked at Pinterest…it scares me. I think I once said the same thing about Twitter…and it still does.

I’ve never actually been to Seattle, but one of the best bloggers out there, Molly Wizenberg of Orangette fame, lives there. Her husband’s pizza shop, Delancey, sounds terrific, and had a great write-up in the NYTimes earlier this year.

Thank you Molly…I will check this out!
Frost Doughnuts in Mill Creek. Get a Smoky Bacon Maple Bar and a Bourbon Caramel Pecan. You can thank me later.
This may prove to be a challenge…I’ll be in dntwn sans car. But I will see what I can do. Has anyone ever taken a taxi ride just for donuts?
I was just about to recommend Delancy as well but Molly beat me to it.
Ben eating a cup of soup, on a park bench, alone was hilarious. Treating himself to a Batman costume topped it.
I better go to this Delancy.
Regarding the Ben scene…the best part is when the whisked him away and just threw his cup of soup down. Classic!
Your Unique Randomness posts crack me up!
Grafton Street is actually where my Boyfriend and I had or first date! He was late… VERY late because he thought i literally meant… meet me at Grafton STREET. Ha! They have an awesome chickpea burger… and their hummus plate is the bomb… I think they use basil in their hummus!?
Harvard Book Store date night! Not nerdy.. AWESOME!
Pinterest owns my soul.
“Pinterest owns my soul.” That might be one of my favorite lines in a very long time.
I’m beginning to think Grafton is a special place. Awesome vibe and food. I saw that chickpea burger and was tempted.
If you’re willing to drop some significant cash, I had one of the best meals of my life at Rovers.
