Get ready, Little Rock, it’s that time of year. Temps are still cool but the events, both outdoor and indoor, are heating up…

The 9th annual Dentalways B Street Rib Off will take place on Saturday, April 29th at Argenta Plaza in NLR. The event features a BBQ cooking competition focused on amateur cooking teams and organizers donate all proceeds from the event to the American Cancer Society of Central Arkansas. There will also be live music, a few of Central Arkansas’s most popular food trucks, beverages from local breweries and a raffle that includes merchandise from several Arkansas retailers. Teams interested in cooking for the competition can register at BStreetRibOff.org. Anyone can attend the event and judge the People’s Choice category for a small donation.

Food Truck Festivals of America is rolling into Little Rock for the Arkansas Food Truck & Craft Beer Festival, which takes place on Saturday, April 22 from 12-6pm at the Outlets of Little Rock.Some of the participating food trucks include: Black Hound BBQ, Cajun Sno, Cyprus Knee Food – Cajun cuisine, Jude’s Delight, Loblolly Creamery, Philly Fresh Water Ice, and Wunderbus. Breweries represented include: Apple Blossom, COOP, Destihl, Schlafly, Sonoma Cider, SweetWater, and Victory. General admission tickets are available for purchase in advance for $5 or at the gate for $10. There are also special VIP HOUR tickets available for $20 in advance and $25 at the gate. These tickets will get you one free dessert, unlimited non-alcoholic beverages, and early access from 11 a.m.-noon. Children 12 and under are admitted for free. The 20th Annual Food & Foam Fest will be on April 14th at Dickey Stephens Park in NLR. 400 craft beers, ciders, wine, and fun libations will be available to sample, plus food tastings from

Your favorite pizza maker, Anthony Valinoti, will be in the kitchen this Wednesday night, March 29th at South on Main. I have no idea what the hell he has in store, but I’m betting it will be amazing. On Sunday, April 23rd from 1-5 p.m., ZAZA Heights celebrates nine years in business with a patio/parking lot celebration. Attendees will get to meet local farmers, enjoy a mini farmers market, listen to bluegrass music, drink Lost Forty Brewing beer from the outdoor beer tent, and even munch on pizza prepared in ZAZA’s mobile wood oven. The Wunderbus will also be in attendance. You’ll even be able to learn more about the Arkansas Hunger Relief Alliance and have a chance to donate much-needed kitchen items for Arkansans in need. Items needed include: measuring spoons, measuring cups, cutting boards (preferably flexible cutting mats), paring knives, colanders, frying pans (8 and 10 inch), medium sauce pans, mixing bowls, spatulas, tongs, whisks, and thermometers. Bring three or more items and get a free small gelato.

The Heights Corner Market is having it’s Grand Opening this Friday, March 31st from 3-6 p.m. The first 100 customers to come in will get a free custom Heights Corner Market shopping tote to use again when grocery shopping.

The 2017 Jewish Food Festival is set for Sunday, April 30th from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at War Memorial Stadium and will include traditional Jewish foods such as old fashioned corned beef sandwiches, lox, bagels and cream cheese, kosher hot dogs, rugelach and many more wonderful Jewish delicacies. Admission is free.
