It seems like every time that the question is asked about the best salad in Little Rock, US Pizza’s salad is almost reflexively the answer. But what if I told you that there is a similar, but better* salad in town and it has been around since the 80’s.

The Club Salad at Grady’s is everything that I want from a pizza parlor salad. It has plenty of lettuce, including fresh spinach, good quality meats, plenty of cheese, real bacon bits (not that red grape nuts that other places serve as bacon bits) and served with a side of club crackers. Also, I find myself having leftovers, so it is a good value because I can often get two meals out of it.

The real pro-tip for this salad though, is the dressing. Get the jalapeno ranch. It has a distinct jalapeno kick to it that really makes the salad like no other in town. My wife also likes the honey mustard, but for me, the jalapeno ranch is the only way to go.

Grady’s has been a mainstay in Little Rock for decades. I first discovered it because of their great sandwiches when a coworker brought me half of theirs for lunch. (Side note: their Italian sandwich was an addiction of mine for a while, but sadly it is no longer on the menu). They also have good pizza, so it took me a while to get to their salads, but once I did it became all I ever order.

Now with new(ish) Grady’s WLR location that has a drive through window to pick up call-in orders, it has become our go-to salad for lazy nights when we don’t want to cook, but are craving a salad.

(***The intent of this post is not to knock on US Pizza, but to let everyone know of other options out there. I still go to US Pizza regularly for their sandwiches.)
