You probably know the drill by now. If you don’t, Saturdays are dedicated to finding another food blogger’s recipe, and giving it a test drive. Let’s check out Palate-to-Pen’s take on cheesecake.

Make no mistake, this is honest-to-goodness cheesecake, but without all the fuss.  No springform pan and no six eggs.  That translates into a winning recipe, especially in my household, where my wife is allergic to eggs.

I’m not a cheesecake lover, but if you are (and I know there are a ton of you out there), this is a wonderful recipe to try out.  Major props on the use of cinnamon as a topping.  Surprisingly, I’d never seen this before, yet it makes so much sense.  Pay close attention to the detailed directions, because the butter/crust step is ESSENTIAL.  It yields a wonderful crust that holds up to the dense cheese filling.

This recipe gets a 5-star rating…a small wedge with a cup of coffee is perfect.  Healthy?  No.  Tasty? Yes.  And thus, I’d make Larry’s Rocking Cheesecake again in a slow, artery-clogging heartbeat.

This is also a fantastic food blog to follow, and one that I am definitely working into the rotation.  I’m always so fascinated to read the “About” section of any food blogger.  I’m curious on how others got into it blogging.

From Palate-to-Pen: “As all bloggers know, the nature of blogging is the only motivation one needs to continue writing. When you love what you write about, then the obsession sets in, and you are doomed to create, create, create, then post. A delightful torture. If anyone reads what you write, then that’s the added bonus!”

I couldn’t agree more!

We are enjoying the cheesecake, one small piece at a time. Great recipe! I need to invite some friends over to help finish it.

Love me some cheesecake. I read this about 24 hours too late, we’re having a dinner ‘party’ of sorts tonight – this would have been an amazing addition!

This just means I can make it and have more cake to myself…….

We still have half ours left. I literally get fatter with each bite. Damn genetics!
