Quapaw Quarter United Methodist Church is celebrating its 10th Annual Christmas in the Quarter holiday tour of homes from 2-5 p.m. in the Quapaw Quarter of downtown Little Rock on Sun., Dec. 8. The event gives guests a glimpse into four 19th century homes while savoring the tastes, sights, sounds and scents of the holidays. All funds raised go to Quapaw Quarter United Methodist Church.
Step back a couple of centuries without leaving Little Rock during the holiday event by touring the holiday-decorated homes and church, learn a bit about the history of each, and enjoy appetizers, beverages and live music, including strolling minstrels singing carols. Also this year, anyone purchasing a ticket in advance can start the tour from any home featured on the event. Only those purchasing tickets the day of the event will start the tour from the church, where guests can sit in peace and fellowship in its Gothic Revival architecture and relish holiday refreshments.
Homes on this year’s tour include the church at 1601 S. Louisiana, the Kavanaugh House at 1854 S. Arch, the Bowman House at 1415 Broadway, the Empress Bed & Breakfast at 2120 S. Louisiana and the Foster-Robinson House at 2122 S. Broadway.
Presale tickets are available until 5 p.m. Sat., Dec. 7 and are $20 per person online at http://qqumc.org/citq, by calling the church at 501-375-1600 or visiting Quapaw Quarter United Methodist Church. On the day of the event, tickets are $25 per person. The day of the event, tourists can purchase tickets at the church with cash, check or credit/debit cards. Tickets also can be purchased the day of the event at any of the tour homes with credit/debit cards only.
